Fleece Bed Pillow
Pillows are quick and easy to make. This project is for making a soft winter pillowcase.
The first step is measuring the width and length of the pillow that you want to cover. Your cutout will look like a long rectangle. Make sure that you add about 4-8 inches for the “cuff”. Fold over on each end of your rectangle, with wrong sides together, the amount that you want for the pillow cuff. As fleece does not unravel, you do not need to “fold-over” any allowance for the end of each piece. All you need to do is stitch across on each side to hold the pillow cuffs in place. I recommend at least using a double stitch. If you have a serger, this is a perfect time to pull it out, because finishing up the two sides hems will take only 2-3 minutes. If you are using a sewing machine, sew a double straight stitch along both edges of the pillow and then zigzag the edges for a nice clean finish.
If you know how to add applique or embroidery, you should do this first before the last sewing step. In the example above, I added embroidery.
